2. PEX pipe manufacturing method

Engel method (peroxide method): Using cross-linking media peroxide, under high temperature and high pressure, chemical bonds are formed between long molecular chains of polyethylene, which is the so-called cross-linking. The PEX pipe manufactured by this method is named PX-a.
Silane method: During the extrusion process, silane is mixed into the raw material to combine polyethylene chains with silicon molecules, classified as PX-b.
Radiation method: irradiate polyethylene with gamma or beta rays to physically form cross-links, called PX-c.
Among them, PX-a, PX-b and PX-c are commercialized PEX pipe types. They have certain differences in heat resistance, creep resistance and stress cracking resistance.
