Is there a difference between hot and cold water pipes for PPR water pipes

Aug 25, 2021

Cold water pipes and hot water pipes have the following differences, and they cannot be mixed.

1. The withstand pressure of the cold water pipe is 1.0 or 1.6 MPa, and the withstand pressure of the hot water pipe is 1.6 or 2.0 MPa

2. PPR cold water pipes are generally used as tap water pipes, hot water pipes are generally used as heating connection pipes, and can also be used for hot water pipes of water heaters.

3. Cold water pipes and hot water pipes have different withstand pressures. The cold water pipes should be small. Therefore, if the cold water pipes are used in hot water pipes with higher working pressure (such as heating connection pipes), the pipe wall may be ruptured, but this is not Absolutely, some pipes can hold up even if cold water is used for hot water, but anyway, cold water pipes are not allowed as hot water pipes, and hot water pipes can be used as cold water pipes;

4. Cold water pipes and hot water pipes have different wall thicknesses and different prices because of the different required pressure resistance. Hot water pipes are thicker than cold water pipes, and the price is more expensive. Therefore, it is economical to use hot water pipes as cold water pipes. The above is not cost-effective;

5. The hot water pipe is marked with a red line, and the cold water pipe is marked with a blue line, and there is a text mark and a pressure tolerance mark. In addition, if the pipes of the same specification are thicker, the cold and hot water pipes can be distinguished.
