After the founding of the Communist Party of China on July 23, 1921, under the brutal rule of the reactionary warlord government, it could only be kept secret, and there was no environment for open activities. During the Great Revolution, the party was busy cooperating with the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, launching the Workers’ and Peasants Movement and supporting the Northern Expedition, and there was no condition to commemorate the birth of the party. Comrade Mao Zedong proposed July 1 as the birthday anniversary of the Communist Party of China in May 1938. Mao Zedong proposed in his article "On Protracted War": "July 1 of this year was the establishment of the Communist Party of China. Seventeenth Anniversary". This is the first time that leading comrades of the central government have clearly stated that "July 1st" is the anniversary of the party's birth. At that time, the only founders of the first party in Yan'an were Mao Zedong and Dong Biwu. They recalled that the first meeting was held in July, but they couldn't remember the exact date of the meeting. Because of the lack of file information, it was impossible to verify it for a while, so July 1 was determined as the anniversary of the party's birth. As the party’s birthday, "July 1" was first seen in the Central Documents in June 1941. At that time, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China issued the "Instruction for Commemorating the Fourth Anniversary of the 20th Anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party." The instructions said: "July 1 this year is the 20th anniversary of the birth of the Communist Party of China, and July 7 is the fourth anniversary of the Chinese Anti-Japanese War. The anti-Japanese base areas should convene separate meetings, adopt various methods, hold commemorations, and publish special issues or publications in various publications. Special". This is the first document made in the name of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to commemorate "July 1" as the party's birthday. Since then, the whole party has begun to commemorate the party’s birthday on a large scale. And "July 1" was fixed as the party's birthday.
