1. Different raw materials
PPR pipes are made of copolymerized polypropylene, while PVC is made of polyvinyl chloride, which leads to differences in their properties, such as different colors. A variety of colors are produced, and the PVC pipes are mostly milky white with a smooth outer layer.
2. Different wall thickness
PPR can be divided into 4 and 6 pipes, their wall thickness is 2.3 and 3.5 mm, the PVC pipe is 6 mm with a wall thickness of 2 mm, and the wall thickness of the pipes between 8 and 10 mm is 2.5 mm, and their diameter Similar, but the diameter of the pipe is very different. It can usually be seen with the naked eye that the thickness of the PPR pipe is larger under the same specification.
3. Different manufacturing costs
Because of the factors of material and wall thickness, their production cost and selling price are also different. Usually, the price of PPR pipe is more expensive, so if you want to reduce the cost, it is better to choose PVC pipe.
4. Different uses
The hygiene and safety performance of PVC pipe is worse than that of PPR pipe, so PPR pipe is usually used as water supply pipe at home. It can be used in hot and cold water pipes, while PVC pipe can only be used for cold drainage pipe, and PPR pipe can be used in high temperature of 90 degrees. It is easy to operate, easy to install, and has excellent welding performance. It can be applied to both thermal welding and electric welding machines. The corrosion resistance of PVC pipes is better, but they cannot withstand high temperatures and cannot be installed hot. Usually, PVC glue is used for connection.
